About this file

This is a Utility Work Schedule document prepared by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in coordination with CenturyLink Communications, LLC, outlining the relocation and adjustment of telecommunications utilities for the 16th Street NE Bridge Project in Collier County, Florida. The utility work involves 48 separate activities encompassing the removal, protection, adjustment, boring, and splicing of various telecommunications facilities including buried trunk (BT) cables, buried drop wires (BDW), aerial drop wires (ADW), pedestals, hand holes, and related infrastructure along approximately 2.5 miles of roadway corridor (station 503+70 through 1174+00). All utility work is scheduled to occur during FDOT project construction, with each individual activity requiring one consecutive calendar day for completion. The project is based on FDOT plans dated August 1, 2023, and the utility work schedule was executed by Troy Inniss, Network Implementation Program Manager for CenturyLink, on September 19, 2023, with engineering approval from Jesse E. Gill, P.E.

CenturyLink requires five business days' advance notice prior to the start of construction and prior to any required utility work activities, with all work to be performed between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, unless otherwise coordinated with 48 hours' notice. The utility contractor must obtain a utility permit and comply with the 2017 Utility Accommodation Manual requirements. CenturyLink has requested 60 days prior to construction to address engineering, permitting, funding, and material procurement activities. The utility work is dependent upon the roadway contractor's completion of staking, excavation, drainage work, hard surface removal, and grading activities as detailed for each work activity. CenturyLink retains the right to maintain access throughout the project duration to monitor and service its facilities.
