About this file
This document is an Addendum to Request for Proposal 24-028 for the NMHS Performing Arts Center Audio/Video Equipment, issued by the Douglas County School District in Georgia. The RFP seeks to furnish and install new audio/video equipment for the NMHS Performing Arts Center, including replacing old sub speakers and amps, providing a larger mixer with a minimum of 32 local XLR inputs, and a new equipment rack with power. The awarded vendor will be responsible for removing the old speakers, with some exceptions. The installation is not limited to school breaks and can occur during the school day, though it cannot be done from July 15-19, 2024 due to a previously scheduled event. Proposals are due by May 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. EST.
The addendum addresses questions and answers related to the equipment requirements, including the need for new cabling, wireless microphones, and playback devices. It also clarifies that a mobile stage box could be ideal, and any unused analog lines can be removed. Pricing terms, set-asides, funding sources, and other financial information are not provided in this addendum.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS - MODIFIED
2. Equipment list shows new main array speakers, but no new sub speakers. Are the old subs and sub amps to remain?
The old subs and sub amps are not to remain.
The old sub speakers and amps will need to be replaced.
3. The SQ-6 mixer has 24 local XLR inputs with all the wireless mics and other inputs at mixer location the SQ-7 would give you 32 local XLR inputs. Will 24 inputs be enough?
At a minimum, we need 32 local XLR inputs.
To accommodate adequate support for the performers on stage and live instrumentation, an SQ-7 mixer with 42 channels is ideal.
5. Do we need to supply equipment rack with power or use existing?
A new equipment rack will be required to house the new equipment.
Yes, if the new speakers are passive the equipment rack powering the amps would require new power in order to ensure speakers are being powered with correct voltage as the current rack has clipped and powered off mid usage several times.
6. Who is responsible for removal of old speakers?
Awarded vendor
The speakers that are flown should be removed by the team taking them down if possible. House left and right fills and stage + wing monitors should remain.
7. Is there existing cabling to mixer location?
There is cabling but we expect new cabling to be used with the new equipment.
The cabling that currently exists to the mixer is the snake running from the booth upstairs down the wall into the mixer as well as the mic receivers to the right of the board.
11. What existing devices such as wireless mics and playback devices that need to be incorporated into new?
No existing equipment is planned to be incorporated into the new
The new board should be equipped for minimally (2) local lines for playback. A set up should also allot for minimally (5) wireless mics (pending quality of wireless handheld mics currently possessed). Additionally, 25 wireless body packs (may need to be included in new equipment order pending assessment of quality/condition of current equipment) + new distribution system for the receivers (unless current receivers are compatible) & compatible antenna (current antennas are not compatible).

18. Will the Stage Box inputs be used as an installed box in the rack backstage, or will this be a mobile box used when bands need to plug in or something of that nature? Are we expected to re-route any cabling from existing floor boxes to this digital stage box? Are existing analog lines from the stage to the sound console to remain, along with the split snake in the rack upstairs? The consultant design will help clarify this.
The new equipment will not be mobile. The analog lines will not remain.
A mobile stage box for when bands are being patched in could be ideal. Will there be only one stage box either mobile or stationed backstage or one for backstage and one allocated to the pit? We can forgo any floor boxes to digital stage box connections as they are not easy to remedy if issues appear. Any analog lines that are not being utilized in the new set up can be removed.
20. If product availability does not allow for an installation before the end of the summer break, would it be acceptable and possible to arrange installation during a fall break, winter break, or other long holiday?
The installation is not limited to school breaks. Vendors can access the area during the school day. It should be noted that performances begin in September.
Please also note that installation cannot occur from July 15-19, 2024 due to a previously schedule event.
