About this file

This is Addendum #1 to Request for Proposals (RFP) #23-205 issued by the City of Johns Creek, Georgia Purchasing Division for architectural engineering design services for a combined Fire Station #63 and Police Substation. The project involves developing construction documents for a new facility to be located adjacent to Newtown Park, with planned connectivity between the new facility and the park. Pages 16-18 of the bid packet contain all building elements required. A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on July 10, 2023 at 1:30 PM ET with 27 firms in attendance, representing companies including RLS Design Group, McMillan Pazdan Smith, Travis Pruitt & Associates, PGAL, CPL Architecture, and others. All proposals are due by 2:00 PM ET on Monday, July 24, 2023, submitted both electronically through BidNet and as hard copies to City Hall. The City anticipates a Design-Bid-Build project delivery method and plans to procure all new equipment and furnishings for the facility. Additionally, a memorial tree from the current Fire Station #63 will be relocated to the new site.

The City has allocated $2 million for construction funding but anticipates that additional funding will be required to fully fund the project, with additional budget allocations expected from City Council. The Mayor and City Council have funded construction documents and begun setting aside funds for construction, though a formal construction budget has not been established. The City will provide all necessary boundary, topographic, utility, and tree surveys under a separate contract. Firms must acknowledge receipt of Addendum #1 in their proposal submissions. The deadline for submitting questions via BidNet is July 17, 2023 at 5:00 PM. All offerors must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and non-discrimination requirements for disadvantaged business enterprises as defined in 49 CFR Part 23.
