About this file

This document is a Section 7 Supplemental Specifications for Road and Street Construction issued by Pinellas County, Florida, referencing the FY 2024 Pavement Preservation Package 1 (Contract No. 23-0831). The project encompasses pavement preservation work across four distinct locations, including one arterial project (Bryan Diary from 72nd St to US19) and three local group neighborhood projects (Local Groups 145, 94, and 62), totaling approximately 25 miles of roadway. The specifications detail various pay items for Superpave Asphalt Concrete, including leveling and surface courses for different road types, with specifications for Type SP 9.5 and SP 12.5 mixes at Traffic Level C and variable thicknesses.

The contract includes specific technical requirements for asphalt work, such as a 25% restriction on recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) and provisions for milling existing asphalt pavements up to 2 inches in thickness. Additional utility-related work is specified, including adjustments to valve boxes and manhole rings and covers to finished grade. The document provides detailed measurement and payment guidelines for each work item, with payments calculated per ton for asphalt work and per each for utility adjustments. Notably, fuel price adjustments are not applicable in this contract, and the work covers various road configurations including intersections, cul-de-sacs, driveways, medians, and turn lanes.
