About this file
This is Addendum 1 to Invitation to Bid 23-019R issued by the City of Albany Procurement Division for the Dougherty County Health Department located at 1710 South Slappey Boulevard, Albany, Georgia. The project involves weatherproofing and exterior wall restoration work, including repointing defective mortar joints on existing brick and stone, repairing brick columns, surface preparation and painting of steel lintels above windows using hand grinding and sanding methods, sealing vertical coping joints, and installation of overhead protection at building entry points. A building permit is required for the project. The contract duration is 90 days with an anticipated start date of 10 days after award. Power and water are available onsite for contractor use, and the owner will provide a laydown area; however, fencing, lighting, and security are not included. No work is to be performed on the roof, roof skylights, roof metal coping, or any masonry painting. Workers should not access facility restrooms and must provide portable sanitation facilities. There are no restrictions on work hours and no liquidated damages associated with the project.
Payment and performance bonds will be required and delivered during the submittals process. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on the bid form when submitting their proposals. The addendum clarifies scope ambiguities from the original specifications, including confirmation that brick columns are included in the work while structural steel painting is limited to steel lintels only, and that no masonry or wood painting is included. Hand grinding and sanding is an acceptable alternative to SP6 Commercial Blast for surface preparation of steel lintels to protect adjacent aluminum window frames and glass. All vertical coping joints receive sealant rather than mortar. Repointing work is limited to defective mortar only rather than the entire building exterior. The document includes improved quality drawings and photographs for bidder reference to clarify the scope of work.
