Answers to Questions (Q) / Clarifications (C) / Modifications (M)

Q. Can you provide a Teams or Zoom meeting with C&S engineer of records to discuss drive motor support framing and sprocket bracketing, shafts etc.?

A. We are not considering any virtual meetings at this time.

Q. What is the expected Schedule and anticipated workdays and work hours, and can we work weekends if needed?

A. Preferably Monday – Friday, However, we can consider weekends on a case-by-case basis, details will be discussed with awarded contractor.

Q. What is the manufacturer/Part number for the 8 trolley shoes you are wanting for spare parts?

A. Trolley shoes are made by United Electric Corporation. Existing part number PP4- 15-4PD-SLIDES, Catalog Number 2211G04.

mailto:ng.fl.flarng.list.cfmo-contracting@army.mil

Q. Is there any specific lubrication or grease that you prefer to use for lubricants?

A. Nothing specific in terms of lubricants or grease for components. The rotational speed of the drive trains is low, so I would prefer the contractor propose a product(s) they have used successfully in the past.

Q. During the walkthrough there was mention of right and left motor drive systems. Can you tell us how many left and/or right?

A. There are eight (8) right and eight (8) left for a total of 16 motor & gear boxes.

Q. In (Miller Edge Door Sensor Pads) the Scope of work it shows 32 doors needing to be replaced, is this correct?

A. The 32 doors number in the Scope of Work is incorrect. There are 24 total doors (8 clusters of 3 doors per cluster) - 2 drive doors and 1 tag-along door per door cluster - 16 drive doors and 8 “tag-along” doors total. Door Edge sensor pads are to be replaced on both edges of drive doors only. Tag -along doors do not have door edge sensor pads.

16 drive doors with door edge pads on both ends is total 32 door edge pads.

Q. Do you have onsite space for a breakroom and storage Conex?

A. Yes, placement of the Conex will be discussed with the awarded contractor.

Q. Will there be any down time for us if they need to roll a helicopter in or bring one out of Hanger bays?

A. Yes, this possibility always exists, however, we do try to minimize the possibility through clear communication.

Q. Can we work on the door during bad weather if there is lightning or do we need to stand down?

A. No, work will cease until inclement weather passes.

Q. Is there anything else that we need to buy spare for Motors, Chains, Door sensor

Pads.

A. Please bid to the plans and specs.

Q. Do you have a construction debris and or metal dumpsters available on site for contractor use?

A. No, the contractor is responsible for disposal of materials. Contractor shall provide copies of all records of recycling and waste disposal, including the construction and demolition debris (C&D) report (to be furnished by DMA). See General Terms and Conditions C-9.

Q. How and where do you dispose of oily wastes on site?

A. The contractor shall manage their own HAZMAT disposal and provide SDS reports.

The contractor is responsible for keeping the job site clean, neat, and orderly, and to maintain secondary containment for all petroleum, oil, and lubricants. Generated debris, including all Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) waste streams, is to be disposed as need in accordance with EPA and State of Florida rules and regulations at the contractor’s expense. All EPA, DoD, and OSHA State and Federal regulations will be strictly enforced. Petroleum, oil, lubricants, and other hazardous material spills must be reported immediately to the local unit contact, the Environmental Manager, and the respective local environmental POC (contacts to be given at the pre-con meeting to awarded contractor).

Q. What are your daily FOD procedures and Directives?

A. All contractors are required to perform daily “FOD” sweeps of their work area, including “lay-down” areas at the end of each day.
