About this file

This is a commodity specification document issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Human Services for frozen juice products to be supplied to Wernersville State Hospital. The specification outlines requirements for portion-packed frozen juices prepared from 100% pure juice concentrate without added sugar or preservatives, packaged in 4-ounce plastic disposable cups with 72 containers per case. The commodity listing includes unsweetened juice varieties (apple, grape, grapefruit, orange, orange-pineapple, pineapple, and prune), juice drinks (apricot nectar, cranberry, fruit punch, lemonade, peach nectar, and pear nectar), and frozen orange juice concentrate available in two concentration options. All products must meet USDA and FDA Grade A standards with a minimum shelf life of one year when frozen or five days when chilled at 40 degrees or below. Acceptable brands for the portion-packed juices are limited to Ardmore Farms, Minute Maid, and Sun Cup.

The specification establishes strict packaging and quality requirements, including individually labeled cups with easy-open tops that prevent leaking and rolled edges without sharp edges to ensure food safety and usability in a healthcare facility setting. Pricing terms, bid response dates, contract duration, and award information are not provided in this specification document, which functions primarily as a detailed product and quality standard guide for potential suppliers responding to the related food procurement opportunity for Wernersville State Hospital.
