About this file

This Addendum No. 3, dated May 24, 2021, modifies the Request for Bid #2113 issued by Kenosha County, Wisconsin, for glass damage repairs at the Kenosha County Courthouse Campus, which encompasses three buildings: the Courthouse (KCC), the County Administration Building (KCAB), and the Public Safety Building (PSB). The project involves replacement of damaged glass, aluminum-framed storefronts, doors, frames, and associated hardware at the three county buildings located at 912 56th Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin. The addendum specifies changes to aluminum door specifications, requiring Medium Stile doors instead of Wide Stile, with a 2-inch thickness and optional 12-inch bottom rails to match existing installations. Specific Plan Note #7 was added to the KCAB entry doors and PSB entry doors as part of the base bid. The addendum establishes Alternate D, which provides a deduct price option for omitting all work at the PSB south entry doors and sidelights, including aluminum frames, doors, glass, hardware, caulking, and general condition costs. Contractors were required to submit all questions by Friday, May 14, 2021, with the completion date set for on or before July 30, 2021.

The specifications require contractors to provide detailed submittals including product data, shop drawings, hardware schedules, and installer qualifications, with a mandatory preinstallation meeting one week before work begins. Door hardware specifications differ by building, with the KCC and KCAB buildings requiring Von Duprin 33A panic devices, while the PSB building requires Dormakaba 9700 Series panic devices with Medium Stile finish in Bronze 613 (Oxidized Satin Oil Rubbed) that includes motorized latch retraction and electrical hold/dog features with power and controls connections. All work must comply with AAMA, ASTM, and ASCE standards, and contractors must provide a five-year manufacturer warranty against glass seal failure and exterior finish degradation. A bid bond is required, and Kenosha County is exempt from Federal Excise and Wisconsin Sales Taxes under Wisconsin Statute 77.54(9a)(b), with CES number 008-1020421892-06.
