About this file
This is a Solicitation Bond form from the Minnesota Department of Administration for contract opportunity 2027-183, the Tamarac River Channel Dredging project managed by the Department of Natural Resources. The project involves the mechanical removal of sand deposits from the mouth of the Tamarac River at Upper Red Lake, with materials to be disposed at a site approximately 1.7 miles from the project location. The work scope includes creating a channel approximately 750 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 4 feet deep, with an estimated removal volume of 1,300 cubic yards. Interested contractors must submit responses electronically through the Swift Portal, and site visits can be arranged by contacting Lance Crandall, Project Supervisor, at (218) 732-8452 x238. All responses must comply with solicitation requirements, and the award will be made to the lowest responsible vendor meeting the specifications and terms and conditions.
The solicitation bond requires bidders to post a bond equal to 5% of the bid amount as a condition of their response submission. The bond serves as a guarantee that the successful bidder will execute a contract with the State of Minnesota within the required timeframe and provide the performance bond as specified. The bid price must be all-inclusive, incorporating all labor, materials, tools, transportation, equipment, sales tax, use tax, and other costs necessary for project completion. Proper execution of all bond documents requires notarization and must be signed by authorized company officers; corporate surety acknowledgments and powers of attorney must accompany the bond submission. Insurance forms must specifically detail all required coverage types as outlined in the state's specifications.
