About this file
This is an Addendum 2 Notice to Bidders issued by Calvert County Government for RFP 2027-002 regarding the Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center Competition Pool Renewal project. The project involves the complete interior renewal of the competition pool at 130 Auto Drive, Prince Frederick, Maryland, requiring qualified commercial swimming pool contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, testing, temporary protections, disposal, startup planning, technical guidance, and incidentals necessary to deliver a durable, watertight, uniform, and serviceable competition-pool finish suitable for continuous public and competitive swimming use. The revised bid due date is Thursday, August 27, 2026, by 12:00 pm. The initial question and answer period concluded on August 7, 2026, with additional questions accepted until August 24, 2026, by 2:30 pm. Work on Item 2 is scheduled to begin on or about September 23, 2026, subject to site access and coordination with an ongoing construction project, with the County desiring completion of all work (Price Proposal Items 2-10 and Specifications 7.B through 7.M), including final inspection, punch-list correction, closeout, and turnover, by October 20, 2026.
Bidders are required to submit a realistic proposed project schedule and completion date with their bids and will be evaluated and scored based on their ability to achieve or come as close as practicable to the County's desired October 20, 2026 completion date. Calvert County Government highly prefers bidders to provide a Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount, as well as a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract value. Bidders will be evaluated and scored based on their response to the County's bond preference requirements. The County may consider alternate schedules submitted by bidders, provided they align with the project's anticipated site conditions and available access beginning on or about September 23, 2026.
