About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) to gather stakeholder feedback for strategic planning of the Fiscal Year 2027 Alzheimer's Research Program (AZRP). The CDMRP explicitly states that this RFI is not a solicitation, RFP, or RFQ, and no contract will be awarded pursuant to this announcement. Responses are not offers and will not form binding contracts. The RFI seeks input from academia, industry, community and non-profit organizations, scientific and professional organizations, federal agencies, and the public regarding research focus areas and funding opportunities. Although FY27 federal funds have not yet been appropriated as of October 2026, the AZRP is collecting information solely to support program planning without committing to incorporate feedback into future funding opportunities. The AZRP's mission focuses on funding solution-oriented research to address critical needs and improve quality of life for Service Members, Veterans, their families, and the public living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, particularly those associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI), military service, and diverse risk factors. Historical appropriations for the AZRP from FY11-26 totaled $228 million.
Responses to this RFI must be submitted through Survey Monkey by the deadline of December 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM EST. The government has explicitly stated that it cannot protect proprietary or sensitive information submitted through Survey Monkey, and respondents are instructed not to submit such information. Responses will not be returned to submitters. All questions and inquiries regarding the RFI should be directed to Jared D. Acre at jared.d.acre.civ@health.mil. If appropriated, the CDMRP will utilize a two-tier review process to manage the AZRP. Additional program information is available at https://cdmrp.health.mil/azrp/.
