About this file

This is a Schedule of Bid Items for vault toilet pumping services at the Superior National Forest – West Zone. Bidders must provide a per-pumping cost for each vault location listed, with the bid amount applied each time a vault is emptied. The Forest will provide an annual work order specifying which tanks require pumping that year, as the number of visits varies annually.

The scope includes 44 distinct vault locations organized into four geographic areas: Crane Lake and Western Echo Trail Area (10 locations), Britt and Virginia Area (8 locations), East of Hoyt Lakes and Toimi Area (5 locations), and Kawishiwi District – Ely Area (21 locations). Most standard vault toilets hold approximately 1,000 gallons and must be pumped annually or every other year between May 15 and November 15, except where noted with an asterisk. Double vaults contain two tanks with separate access holes. The Ely Seaplane Base requires monthly pumping of 2,000 gallons, while the Ely Tanker Base requires annual pumping in June of 2,500 gallons. Older wood frame buildings may have smaller capacities than standard vaults. Bidders must provide individual line-item pricing for each single vault, each double vault, and the two special pumping schedules, with all pricing reflected in the Schedule of Bid Items tables.
