About this file

This document is a Visitor/Contractor Installation Access Protocol for Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin, California, issued by the Defense Logistics Agency.

The protocol establishes a mandatory access request process that requires visitors or contractors to coordinate with their respective DLA contact (Sponsor) and submit access requests at least 3 working days prior to their visit. The process involves four steps: (1) the Sponsor distributes the Visitor Pre-Enrollment Instructions document to the visitor/contractor, who then completes a five-step DBIDS (Defense Biometric Identification System) pre-enrollment process and receives a six-digit alphanumeric confirmation code; (2) the visitor/contractor provides this confirmation code to their Sponsor; (3) the Sponsor completes an attached spreadsheet with all yellow-highlighted fields and sends it via encrypted email to the Pass and ID Office at DM-FJPass_and_ID@dla.mil; and (4) the Pass and ID Office notifies the Sponsor if access has not been cleared. The DBIDS pre-enrollment link functions with Microsoft Edge or Chrome browsers, and technical issues may be resolved by clearing internet cache. Contact for inquiries is Aldo Barone, Physical Security Program Manager, at (445) 737-7638 or aldo.barone@dla.mil.

DID-U-KNOW?

Visitors or Contractors requiring access to the installation must coordinate with their respective DLA contact (Sponsor) and submit their request at least 3 working days prior to their visit. This is necessary to avoid delays and to ensure those seeking access are properly vetted via the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).

***Sponsors will initiate the process through the following actions***

1. Double-click to open and download the Visitor Pre-Enrollment Instructions document and email it to the Visitor/Contractor. The Visitor/Contractor will follow the instructions in the attached document, complete the five-step DBIDS pre-enrollment process, and receive a confirmation code. The DBIDS pre-enrollment link will work with Microsoft Edge or Chrome; issues accessing may require clearing your internet cache.

2. The Visitor/Contractor must provide the confirmation code to their Sponsor. The confirmation code is a six-digit alpha-numeric code (e.g. 5HCMD7).

3. The Sponsor is then required to complete the attached spreasheet and email it to the PASS and ID Office. All the yellow highlighted fields must be completed by the Sponsor.

The Sponsor will send an encrypted email with the completed spreadsheet to the Pass and ID Office. The Pass and ID Office email address is: DM-FJPass_and_ID@dla.mil
