About this file

This Addendum #1 document, issued April 27, 2026 by the Town of Stratford, Connecticut for Project 2026-24, provides supplemental instructions for structural concrete floor repair work at the Stratford Transfer Station located at 108 Watson Boulevard. The addendum clarifies that work must be executed in two distinct phases to maintain continuous transfer station operations, with Phase 1 expanded to include additional damaged concrete slab areas and requiring a mandatory 21-day concrete cure time before Phase 2 commencement. Additional scope modifications include installation of a 4-foot-deep asphalt apron as shown on marked-up drawings. The project team consists of Snyder Architects, LLC (Architecture/Project Management) based in Trumbull, Connecticut and Cuoco Structural Engineers, Inc. located in Fairfield, Connecticut. Sealed bids are due at 10:00 AM on May 7, 2026, with construction scheduled to commence June 1, 2026 and substantial completion targeted for June 30, 2026.

Addendum #1 further specifies that if Alternate #1 for encasing three steel columns in concrete is included in the scope, the general contractor must relocate and secure the existing garage door track on the north corner to its original position prior to column concrete encasement, as detailed in an annotated photo provided with the addendum. All work must conform to Connecticut prevailing wage requirements and OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Course completion for covered employees. Bidders are required to include a $5,000 allowance for unforeseen conditions, submit a five percent bid bond, and furnish both Performance and Payment Bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract award amount within seven business days of notification.
