About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details hood and duct cleaning services for Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. The contract requires quarterly, semi-annual, and annual cleaning of kitchen exhaust systems at five different locations, including a bowling center, fire house, child development center, school age center, and chapel. The cleaning services must be performed in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 96, using EPA-approved degreasers, and involve comprehensive cleaning procedures such as covering surrounding equipment, cleaning hoods and roof vent systems, flushing and rinsing areas, and wiping down surfaces.

The contractor must provide all necessary labor, tools, equipment, and personal protective gear, and perform work Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding federal holidays. Environmental and safety compliance is critical, including proper hazardous material handling, waste disposal, and emergency response procedures. The performance objective requires 95% compliance, which will be assessed through visual inspections and customer complaints. The cleaning frequencies vary by location, with two systems requiring quarterly cleaning, one semi-annual, and two annual cleanings, reflecting the different cooking volumes and types of facilities.
