About this file

This is a Pay Item Worksheet for a culvert replacement project administered by Palm Beach County, Florida, under the Annual Structural Contract R2016-0308 for the Kirk Road Over LWDD L-11 Canal Culvert Replacement (PBC Project #2023502). The project encompasses roadway, utility, and contingency construction items totaling 53 line items with specified quantities and units. Roadway work includes mobilization, maintenance of traffic, clearing and grubbing, excavation (both regular and canal), asphalt milling and placement, concrete work, riprap installation, guardrails, fencing, and sod placement. Utility work encompasses water main removal and installation in various sizes, fire hydrant assembly replacement, valve installation, and ductile iron fittings. Contingency items include flowable fill, subsoil excavation, variable message signs, traffic control officer hours, storm sewer cleaning, and signage. The worksheet designates that certain quantities correspond to Village of Palm Springs aerial work, with specific line items noting cost allocations for that municipality.

The worksheet serves as the basis for contractor pricing and bid submission, with unit prices to be completed by bidders for each line item. Notable provisions require that mobilization and maintenance of traffic costs be included in unit prices for pay items, that clearing and grubbing encompass multiple ancillary tasks including removal of abandoned FPL conduit and existing fencing, and that excavation and backfill for structures be incidental to structure costs. The county explicitly disclaims accuracy of formulas and extensions used in the spreadsheet, with items and quantities in the document governing over plan specifications. Contingency items may be increased, decreased, or deleted as directed by the engineer, and contractor costs for bypass pumping and dewatering shall comply with special provisions provided by Palm Beach County. FDOT cast-in-place headwall requirements and village of Palm Springs cost allocations (50 percent for certain aerial work items) are noted as integral to bidding requirements.
