REQUEST FOR QUOTES #2022-121

Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge Regional research to measure resident sentiment towards tourism and the visitor economy

RESPONSE TO CLARIFYING QUESTIONS

January 17, 2023

Note that these are questions submitted by interested firms to the above referenced solicitation. The below answers are for clarification purposes only and in no way alter or amend the RFQ as published.

1. What channels do you have to conduct outreach? What information does it consist of (email, etc.)?

Answer: This is going to vary across the region, but we have relationships with county and city entities as well as local community non-profits and chambers. Each have their own newsletter lists, social media platforms, and websites that can be used for outreach. Additionally we have seen success is using local Nextdoor postings and other community FB groups. We would be happy to take other suggestions for outreach.

2. Do you have individual contacts, or are you using broader channels (e.g., newsletters)? How effective are your channels at reaching people?

Answer: We have not done resident research for the whole region before, but this outreach strategy was used for a Clackamas County Tourism resident research project in 2019 with good results.

3. How many presentations do you anticipate? 1 for all partners, or individual presentations for each?

Answer: We were anticipating 1 for all partners.

4. How are you defining the geography for the project? Is the research specific to the listed communities in the scope, or is it the whole area across the entire region in which the communities reside?

Answer: The listed communities in the scope account for the majority of the population in the region. We would like the entire area included in the research though. Any unincorporated communities we could either attach their zip codes to a nearby named community, or just include their responses in the full regional results. Here are the zip codes (Note looking this up has identified an issue that Fairview might not actually be in our designated region, this will be confirmed by contracting time):
