About this file

This is a bid specification sheet for the State of Maine's Annual Tire Chain & Cutting Edge Master Agreement, outlining requirements for tire chains to be supplied to fleet service locations across five regional distribution centers. The bid solicitation covers nine distinct tire chain products ranging from passenger vehicle sizes (225/75R16, 215/85R16) to heavy equipment specifications (HD14.00x24), with a combined total quantity of 1,049 units across all product lines. Regional distribution includes locations in Scarborough, Augusta, Dixfield, Hancock, Caribou, and Houlton, Maine, with designated contacts at each facility. Products must meet specific industry standards including NACM specification 92805 and ASTM E18 hardness requirements for steel. Truck items require V-bar chain configurations, while heavy equipment chains may be either twisted (preferred) or square configuration at the vendor's election.

Pricing is to be submitted on a per-unit basis for each tire chain specification. The contract includes a freight provision where FOB Destination pricing places responsibility for shipping to all specified Maine locations on the vendor. All products must provide a minimum 30-day warranty from first use covering manufacturer defects, with proper installation and usage requirements. The vendor is responsible for evaluating and replacing defective products at vendor expense under the warranty terms, provided misuse or destructive use has not occurred. Deliveries are to occur on an as-needed basis throughout the contract term, with ship-to addresses and primary contacts identified for each regional fleet service center.
