About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls' procurement of Compact Refrigerator/Freezer/Microwave Oven Combination Appliances (MicroFridges) for its 11 residence halls. The project involves the installation of units across residence halls that vary from 3 to 4 floors, with elevator access available in 6 of the 11 buildings. The University intends to install units when the living quarters are vacant whenever possible. The number of units to be installed and removed will be determined based on bid pricing, and the University does not require a specific forecast timeline. Bidders are expected to include their required lead time with their bids. The existing units to be removed are Ecomax Model EC45700-B with a 4.5 cubic foot capacity, though the correct specification for new units is 4 to 5 cubic feet as noted in Amendment No. 1.
Pricing should include options for both bulk delivery and removal from the lobby as well as installation and removal services from the living quarters. The University does not anticipate requiring the contractor to perform maintenance beyond warranty work or to remove all units at the end of the contract term. The number of units removed may differ from the number of units installed. The University plans to replace existing units on a rotating, as-needed basis by residence hall, subject to fund availability, and has declined to provide estimated breakdowns of units needed per year or month. Lease pricing is not required, and interior smoke detectors are not needed in the microwave units.
