2.1. Purpose:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison, hereinafter referred to as the “University”, through its Purchasing Services Department requests bids for the purchase of Veterinary Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies.
2.2. Scope:
This Request for Bid (RFB) is issued to rebid contract # 14-5617 which expires on August 31, 2019. Bidders must respond to this RFB to be considered for the superseding contract, which will begin on September 1, 2019. The current contract may be viewed at http://www.bussvc.wisc.edu/purch/contract/wp5617.html. The annual spend for this contract is approximately $1M.
This RFB is intended to set up multiple contracts for Veterinary Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies over the term of the contract, as identified in Section 3.3. The scope of this contract includes Diagnostic Supplies, IV Solutions and Sets, Medical Supplies, Orthopedic Supplies, Pharmaceutical Supplies, Preventables, Prescription Dietary Supplements, and Vaccines for animal health. Capital equipment is not within the scope of this contract. Bids may be submitted directly from the manufacturer, an authorized distributor, or both. Pricing should be quoted as a fixed discount off the price list(s) identified in Attachment B. It is expected the award will be made to multiple bidders.
This solicitation is requesting pricing and discounts for the product lines listed in the Itemized Bid List, Attachment B. The primary users of this contract will be the Veterinary School and Teaching Hospital, Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, Research Animal Resources Center, Primate Center and the Agricultural Research Stations. Additionally the terms of the contract will be published on UW-Madison’s Contract Web Site, showing the manufacturers and products/product categories awarded. The site is available to eligible purchasers, as identified in Section 5.17. It shows the contracted vendors, their prices and/or discounts, and helps the end users with their purchasing decisions. Bidders are encouraged to provide the University with deep discounts and competitive pricing, based on overall purchases over the term of the contract, rather than single transactions.
See SPECIFICATIONS (Section 6) and/or ITEMIZED BID LIST (Attachment B) for the minimum acceptable specifications for items/services desired. Revisions to this bid may be made only by an official written amendment issued by Purchasing.
The University reserves the right to negotiate with any contracted vendor(s) to establish additional discounts and/or lower prices for products determined to meet the requirements of a University-led initiative to set product standards.
