About this file

This is Amendment #1 to Request for Bid (RFB) 20-0032 issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Purchasing Services for the purchase of a Spectral Flow Cytometer for the Carbone Cancer Center. The amendment revises Item 7 on Attachment B: Specifications, and bidders must acknowledge receipt of this amendment by signing and returning it or risk disqualification. The cytometer will be used to perform high-sensitivity, high-parameter fluorescence-based single-cell analysis for biomedical research applications including immunology, transplantation studies, cancer biology, virology, and microbiology. Bid prices and terms remain firm for sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening. Award determination will be made as soon as possible after bid opening, with the bid abstract becoming available for public inspection only after award decisions have been finalized.

The specifications for the Spectral Flow Cytometer include twelve detailed technical requirements that bidders must confirm as "yes" or "no" responses. These requirements include full spectrum unmixing, spatially separated laser beams with automatic delay adjustment, flat-top laser beam profile, violet laser SSC, proprietary CWDM 16-channel semiconductor detector arrays, vacuum fluidics, Spectroflo software with live spectral unmixing capability, 22-bit 6.5 log decades resolution, minimum 64 fluorescence channels, APD detectors, five specified laser wavelengths (488nm, 405nm, 561nm, 640nm, 355nm), and volumetric measurement capability. Any "no" response requires detailed written explanation of how the deviation would affect product performance, with the University retaining sole judgment on acceptability. Inquiries regarding the bid should be directed to Janet Bresnahan at the UW-Madison Purchasing Services office in Madison, Wisconsin.

Attachment B: Specifications

SCOPE:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Carbone Cancer Center is requesting bids for a Spectral Flow Cytometer. The cytometer will be used to perform the high-sensitivity, high-parameter, fluorescence based single-cell analysis that is quickly becoming the norm for biomedical researchers investigating, for example; the immune system, transplantation (graft vs host), cancer biology, virology, microbiology, as well as for researchers focusing on horticulture and limnology.

SPECIFICATIONS & INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING SPECIFICATION TABLE:

The following specifications represent minimum acceptable requirement. Bidders must select either “yes” or “no” for each specification below. For any “No” Response, the bidder must provide a detailed written explanation indicating how this difference in specification would affect the performance of the product being bid. The University shall be the sole judge of acceptability.
