About this file
This is a Scope of Work attachment for Tooele County, Utah, detailing the furnishing and installation of three motor-operated rolling steel overhead door assemblies at the Tooele County Landfill located at 2830 South Bauer Road, Tooele, Utah 84074. Each door shall serve a nominal opening of 16 feet wide by 16 feet high, with insulated and non-insulated construction offered as alternative configurations for the same three openings; the County will designate the configuration before fabrication. The project requires the contractor to provide all labor, materials, freight, unloading, lifting equipment, installation equipment, hardware, controls, low voltage wiring, adjustment, and testing. Bids are due November 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM MST, submitted by email to purchasing@tooeleco.gov. Site visits may be arranged by contacting purchasing@tooeleco.gov, and the anticipated award is a single firm-fixed-price purchase order for the complete project. The procurement contact is Daniel Folks, Procurement Manager, at daniel.folks@tooeleco.gov. Questions may be submitted through utah.bonfirehub.com or by email to the purchasing department.
The scope requires one front-of-coil mounted electric operator per door rated at one horsepower and compatible with 230 or 460 volt, three-phase supply, along with operating controls, limit controls, light curtain safety systems, and manufacturer-approved manual operation capability. The contractor shall furnish and install all low voltage control and safety wiring, with line voltage electrical supply and final connections to be provided by others. Installation coordination includes delivery scheduling, site protection, equipment provision (including scissor lift and forklift), and comprehensive testing and training. Upon completion, the contractor must provide product data, operating and maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, manufacturer recommended maintenance intervals, warranty documentation, and service contact information to designated County personnel.

TOOELE COUNTY
Attachment A: Scope of Work 1 Project description Furnish and install three complete motor operated rolling steel overhead door assemblies at the Tooele County Landfill, 2830 South Bauer Road, Tooele, Utah 84074. Each door shall serve a nominal opening 16 feet wide by 16 feet high. Provide the labor, materials, freight, unloading, lifting equipment, installation equipment, hardware, controls, low voltage wiring, adjustment, and testing necessary for the work described below.
The work consists of three doors total. Insulated and non-insulated construction are alternative configurations for the same three openings, not separate sets of doors. The County will designate the configuration to be installed before fabrication.
2 Door construction and configuration Common requirements. Provide new rolling steel door assemblies with steel slat curtains, guides, brackets, barrel and counterbalance assemblies, hoods, bottom bars, anchors, and installation hardware required by the selected manufacturer. Slats shall have a gray primed finish. Assemblies shall be suitable for the opening dimensions, mounting conditions, and intended service.
Non insulated configuration. Provide three rolling steel doors with non-insulated slats, each serving a nominal 16 foot wide by 16 foot high opening.
Insulated configuration. Provide three rolling steel doors with insulated slats, each serving a nominal 16 foot wide by 16 foot high opening. All other operator, safety device, installation, and testing requirements remain the same.
Field verify opening dimensions, headroom, side clearance, coil and operator space, mounting surfaces, and obstructions before fabrication. Coordinate any discrepancy affecting fit or operation with the County before ordering materials. Size and mount assemblies to provide the intended clear opening after installation.
3 Operators controls and safety devices Provide one front of coil mounted electric operator for each door, rated 1 horsepower and compatible with 230 or 460 volt, three phase supply. Confirm the actual site voltage before ordering and configure each operator for the supply provided. Each operator shall be sized and approved by its manufacturer for the door assembly it operates.
Provide compatible operating controls, limit controls, and required control components for each assembly. Locate controls in coordination with the County and provide a manufacturer approved means of manual operation during loss of power.
Provide one 3 foot light curtain safety system at each opening, mounted and integrated with the door operator according to manufacturer requirements. Provide any additional protective devices required for the selected operator and operating mode. Verify that interruption of a safety device produces the manufacturer specified stop or reversal response.
4 Electrical work and coordination The door installation Contractor shall furnish and install low voltage control and safety wiring associated with the door systems, including connections between the operator, operating controls, and light curtain devices. Provide required supports, protective routing, terminations, and adjustments for this wiring.
Line voltage electrical supply shall be provided by others. New branch circuits, feeders, disconnects, line voltage raceways and wiring, and final line voltage power connections are outside this door installation scope. Coordinate the electrical interface and connection requirements with the County designated electrical provider before installation.
Provide operator electrical data, required supply characteristics, connection locations, and manufacturer wiring diagrams early enough to support electrical coordination. Do not energize equipment until the supply and connections have been completed and verified by the electrical provider.
5 Installation and site coordination Coordinate delivery, installation dates, access, staging, and temporary restrictions with the County. Protect adjacent building surfaces, equipment, and landfill operations. Maintain safe work areas and control access beneath lifting and overhead work.
Provide freight, unloading, material handling, a scissor lift, a forklift, and other equipment necessary to complete the installation. Install doors, operators, guides, and accessories plumb, level, securely anchored, and in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
Before anchoring, verify that the designated supporting construction is suitable for the manufacturer required loads and fasteners. Report inadequate support or incompatible conditions to the County before proceeding. New structural framing, enlargement of openings, building reconstruction, and removal or disposal of existing doors are not included unless separately authorized by the County.
Complete adjustments to guides, curtain alignment, counterbalance, operator limits, controls, and safety devices. Repair installation damage caused by the Contractor and remove packaging, surplus installation materials, and debris from the work area.
6 Testing training and closeout After electrical service is available, test each door through repeated complete opening and closing cycles. Verify smooth travel, correct direction, limit settings, secure mounting, proper control operation, manual operation, and the response of every installed safety device. Correct binding, misalignment, improper limits, and other installation deficiencies before turnover.
Demonstrate normal operation, manual operation, safety features, and routine inspection and maintenance to designated County personnel. Explain actions to take when a door or safety device malfunctions.
Provide product data identifying the installed door and operator models, final opening dimensions, selected insulation configuration, finish, electrical characteristics, and safety devices. Provide operating and maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, manufacturer recommended maintenance intervals, warranty documentation, and service contact information.
Turn over three complete, adjusted, and operational door systems, together with the closeout documents and completed County staff demonstration.
