About this file

This document provides reporting requirements for shipments of hazardous materials and inert component parts within and from the continental United States and overseas locations. It outlines 15 data elements that must be included in a Report of Shipment, including shipment date, estimated time of arrival, required delivery date, carrier, bill of lading or manifest number, container and seal information, security risk category, hazard classification, and contact information for the shipping activity. Lot numbers, Department of Defense Identification Codes, and Navy Ammunition Logistic Codes should be included if available. When cargo is shipped in multiple conveyances to a port of embarkation, the data elements must be repeated in separate numbered paragraphs for each conveyance. A separate report is also required for each mode of shipment to the port of embarkation.
