About this file
This Scope of Services document is for the Islands of Beaufort Bridge Crossings Water and Sewer Line Replacement project (CIP-2501), involving the Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority (BJWSA). The project requires comprehensive engineering services spanning multiple phases including project administration, site evaluation, design, permitting, and bid support. Key tasks include conducting field surveying, geotechnical investigations, wetland delineation, preparing design drawings and technical specifications, obtaining necessary permits from entities like South Carolina DES, South Carolina DOT, US Army Corps of Engineers, Beaufort County, and local utilities, and supporting the bid process through document preparation and bid evaluation.
The document indicates the project will be funded through a capital improvement project (CIP) with a targeted completion date of September 18, 2025. The engineering services will involve preparing multiple design submittals at 60%, 90%, and bid-ready stages, each requiring cost estimates and project schedules. The scope requires detailed technical work including hydraulic modeling, utility relocation coordination, and development of construction documents. Geotechnical services will be paid from a specified allowance, and no easements are anticipated to be required. The engineer will be responsible for comprehensive project management, including monthly progress reporting, meeting coordination, and supporting BJWSA through the entire project lifecycle from initial site evaluation to final bid award.
