1.0 PROJECT TITLE: Truck and Trailer Tires for Denton MERS Fleet

BACKGROUND

Vehicle tires are a major maintenance requirement for MERS Fleet of emergency response vehicles. MERS vehicle tires are exposed to extreme hazardous environments when deployed to disaster-stricken locations. This exposure drastically reduces the shelf life of the tires and therefore tires must be replaced periodically. Tires are continually being inspected by maintenance technicians and vehicle operators. Tires marked for replacement are between seven to ten years old that also show significant cracks from dry rotting from the extreme Texas heat.
