About this file

This is a Bid Bond Template document for the City of St. George, Utah, applicable to the FY27 Slurry Seal Project. The bid bond is required to accompany all bids submitted for this project, which involves applying slurry seal to roadways and select parking lots throughout the city. The bid bond must be issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in Utah and be submitted on a bond form acceptable to the City of St. George. The document establishes that the principal and surety are jointly and severally bound to the City of St. George, with the obligation becoming void if the bid is rejected or if the bidder executes the contract and furnishes the required performance bond while performing all obligations created by acceptance of the bid.

The bid bond amount is set at 5 percent of the total bid amount submitted. Surety companies executing bonds must appear on the U.S. Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in Utah. The template was approved by the City's Legal Department in May 2024. Additionally, bidders are required to provide 100 percent payment and performance bonds upon contract award. The City of St. George reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or waive any formality or technicality in the bidding process at its discretion.
