About this file

This document is a Bid Bond Confirmation and Bid Check Return Authorization Form for Harris County, specifically designed for bidders submitting bid responses through the Bonfire platform. The form provides detailed instructions for submitting either a bid bond or a cashier's check, which must be dropped off at 1111 Fannin, 12th Floor, Houston, TX 77002 before the specified due date. For bids, the County Clerk may retain the bid checks of the three lowest bidders until after contract award, performance bond receipt, and, if required, payment bond receipt. For Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions, all bid checks will be held by the Office of the Purchasing Agent under similar conditions.

The form authorizes Harris County to return the bid check via regular mail under three conditions: if the bidder is unsuccessful, after a performance and payment bond replacement, or upon contract completion. Bidders must complete either Section A (for bid bond) or Section B (for cashier's check), providing details such as bond/check number, amount, bank, and other identifying information. The document, revised on 3/24/21, requires the offeror to provide contact details, business address, signature, and includes a section for official use by the County Clerk or Purchasing Agent to track the check's return.
