About this file
This is a Scope of Work document for a 2027 Stop Loss Insurance Policy solicitation issued by the City of Amarillo, Texas. The City is seeking proposals from insurers to provide stop loss insurance coverage for the 2027 plan year. The scope of work outlines the requirements for comprehensive stop loss insurance protection, including specific coverage limits, deductibles, and policy terms. Proposers must submit responses according to the timeline established in the RFP, with the contract term covering the 2027 calendar year and potentially extending based on renewal options negotiated during the selection process.
The pricing structure for this solicitation will be based on competitive proposals submitted by qualified insurers, with pricing terms to be evaluated as part of the overall bid assessment. The document establishes specific requirements regarding coverage minimums, claim handling procedures, and administrative responsibilities for the selected carrier. As an incumbent operation, the City may consider experience and service delivery from existing providers; however, all qualified insurers are encouraged to submit proposals. The stop loss insurance is a critical component of the City's employee health benefit program, designed to protect against catastrophic claims and stabilize healthcare costs for the organization.
