About this file

This is a Notice of Intent to Award a Contract Without Engaging in a Standard Procurement Process submitted by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Procurement division. UDOT seeks to award a sole source contract to Sodexo Live! for catering services for the 2026 Utah Transportation Conference. The catering services will be provided over three days and include breakfast, lunch, and snacks (morning snacks for three days and afternoon snacks for two days), along with beverages and associated service. The justification for sole source procurement is that the venue contract with Mountain America Exposition Center mandates the use of their designated catering vendor for all food and beverage services within the facility. UDOT has not conducted market research, contacted alternative vendors, or verified availability on state cooperative contracts, as the venue requirement makes the use of this specific catering provider mandatory.

The estimated total term cost for the contract is $744,297.60, with no freight costs as the service is F.O.B. Destination, Freight Prepaid. The procurement will result in a contract, and the accounting coding is Unit 8001, Appropriation XYD, Object 6276, Activity 7G38, Function C00069. UDOT has contracted with Sodexo Live! previously as required by the Mountain America Exposition Center agreement. The requesting unit has disclosed no personal, financial, or fiduciary relationships with the recommended vendor. No action is required from interested parties if they agree with this notice; however, any qualified providers believing other competing sources exist must submit detailed documentation and cost comparisons during the public notice period.
