About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) seeking market interest and feedback regarding the potential utilization of a proposed commercial spaceport in Utah. The spaceport would support launch, reentry, recovery, and other miscellaneous activities that would benefit from low population density, clear airspace, and a remote, secure environment, with potential uses spanning commercial, academic, and national security test and proving ground activities. The Spaceport Exploration Committee (SEC) is requesting that interested parties complete a short survey and submit a written response limited to 1-2 pages explaining how their organization would use and benefit from a Utah spaceport. The SEC may also host meetings offering interested companies and organizations 5-10 minutes to present an overview of their proposed spaceport use, either virtually or in-person, though not all briefing requests may be accommodated. All submissions must be received no later than September 14, 2026 by 5:00 PM Mountain Time via email to mparry@utah.gov or through the Department's Bonfire eProcurement Platform.
This RFI is explicitly identified as a Request for Information only and is not a solicitation for quotations, bids, or proposals. No contract award or payment will result from this RFI, and all costs associated with preparing and responding are the sole responsibility of the responder. The information received will become the property of UDOT and may be used to develop a subsequent competitive solicitation. Responses must include a cover letter with the respondent's name and contact information and a detailed description addressing the RFI requirements. Submitted information is protected under Utah Code Section 63G-2-305(7), and respondents may claim business confidentiality for sensitive information such as client lists or non-public financial statements by providing a written claim with supporting justification. Failure to respond to this RFI will not disqualify any company from participation in any future solicitation related to this matter.
