The INL Section of the United States Embassy in Bogotá has the task to provide support for the recovery of four (4) Midnight Express (MNE) interceptor boats. These MNE interceptor boats carry out routine maritime interdiction operations in the Colombian Pacific and Caribbean theaters, at high speeds in sea conditions up to and including Douglas scale sea state 4 causing high impact to the boat’s structure, equipment, and crew.
These four (4) MNE Interceptor boats are part of a twelve (12) boat package donated by the government of the United States in 2004. These twelve (12) boats are commonly referred to generation I MNE Interceptor boats. While conducting Maritime Interdiction operations, the four
(4) MNE Interceptor boats in this SOW suffered major damage and were put out of service in
2009 and 2010.
The International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Section (INL) of the United States Embassy in Bogotá requires a service contract with a specialized company from the maritime sector to perform structural repairs and modifications to all four (4) MNE Interceptor boat hulls and to install new parts and equipment on all four (4) MNE Interceptor restored boats.
