Questions and Answers (Q&A)
1. What is the magnitude of the Project?
Answer: Please refer to Section J, paragraph D. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION
2. Section 2.1. Demolition / 2.1.9. Remove existing Air Handling Unit.
Question: In the scope of works indicated we have to consider using a crane or other lifting equipment to safely remove the unit from the building and transport it to a disposal site. In the site visit we understood we can disarm in parts the HVAC existing equipment; can you clarify this?
Answer: The Equipment consist in modules assembled in one structure, to assure the mobilization inside the building, the government accept the contractor separate the system through the modules assembly joints. But the contractor is responsible to re-assembly the equipment modules once the equipment is outside the building.
3. Section 2.3. Installation of new HVAC Ducting:
Question: In the site visit we understood we only consider new ventilation ducts for the
VAV Box inside the Room 165 and the government shall furnish the duct ventilation for the main branch duct in the hallway to the 165 room, is that correct?
Answer: The Contractor is responsible to furnish and install the main metal duct branch and distribution branches, from the existing duct up to the diffusers.
4. Section 2.7 Ceiling installations
Question: in the site visit we understood we have to reuse the existing frame for the ceiling the Government shall furnish, or we have to consider a new frame?
Answer: the contractor is responsible to remove and rearrange the ceiling structure, if in the removal process and reinstallation the structure is affected, the contractor shall replace with equivalent beam structure. The Government will not provide the replacement. These structures are not common in the country so the contractor will have to get them with the correct specifications (SI units – mm) as the SOW specified.
5. Section 2.8 Carpet
Question: the adhesive for the carpet, there is any specifications and if must be VOC
Answer: the Government will provide carpet, glue and the glued process guidance.
6. Please confirm VAVs measures and capacity?
Answer:
• We have updated the VAV and diffuser chart with all the measurements. Please refer to the new attachment: PROPOSE CDC mar24-PAGE 4 - MECHANICAL
PLANS V3.1.
• Therefore, we provided new details for connections and hanging supports for flexible ducts to diffusers.
• Note that the 165 VAV system, has been changed from a round duct to a square duct with dampers on each flexible outlet. Please follow the new flexible duct connection and hanging support detail.
7. Please confirm electric panel model and capacity.
