About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation No. 19N06026Q0009 issued by the Embassy of the United States of America in Oslo, Norway on July 13, 2025, addressing inquiries regarding the replacement and installation of sliding gates and drop arms.

The solicitation requires the replacement and installation of one sliding gate with one associated drop arm set containing two arms at the entrance of the staff parking area, which is an open-air parking space with no roof. Prospective quoters are permitted to supply the gate systems while engaging a local subcontractor to perform installation under the main contractor's management and responsibility, provided the main contractor submits documentation of affiliation with the subcontractor and written confirmation from the subcontractor agreeing to perform the work. The subcontractor must understand that the Embassy will not be responsible for direct payment to the subcontractor. Photography of gates and fences is prohibited; specifications are provided in the solicitation package under Section 1. Regarding technical requirements, contractors must verify signal strength to the new PLC (Programmable Logic Controller); however, no existing baseline signal strength data is available, and it is sufficient for the contractor to verify that the new PLC has adequate signal strength upon completion of installation.
