About this file
This is a Project Manual for the US Consul General Residence Kitchen Renovation in Casablanca, Morocco, issued by the Department of State's Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO). The project covers interior alterations including selective demolition, finishes, cabinetry, doors, hardware, glazing, tile work, painting, appliances, and countertops. The architect is Architecture 359, Inc. (Cincinnati, OH), with plumbing/mechanical/electrical consulting by Othman Bassou (Africa Think-SARL AU, Rabat, Morocco). The manual references Secretary of Interior Standards for Historic Preservation compliance and includes detailed specifications across multiple divisions: metal fabrications, architectural wood casework, stile-and-rail doors, interior door hardware, interior glazing, veneer plastering, ceramic and cement tile, interior painting, residential appliances, and quartz agglomerate countertops. All specifications require European (EN) standards compliance and CE marking certification where applicable. Quality assurance emphasizes fabricator/installer experience (minimum 5 years in respective trades), mock-ups for approval, and adherence to specific standards for materials, finishes, and performance characteristics.
The manual includes procurement forms for Requests for Information (RFI), substitution requests, and digital data release agreements. Detailed technical specifications (DTS) for electrical work specify distribution cables (U1000 RO2V in various gauges), lighting fixtures (embedded and waterproof apparatus from Legrand/Schneider Electric/Simon brands), control panels, decorative LED luminaires, intercom kits, and external air extraction fans. Plumbing specifications call for PPR PN20 pipes for hot/cold water distribution, PVC drain pipes, a double-basin stainless steel sink with GROHE mixer tap, a 100L electric water heater (DEDIETRICH brand), and circular galvanized steel ducts (Ø160). All work is priced per linear meter for piping/cabling, per unit for fixtures and appliances, and as complete assemblies where specified, with pricing intended to include all materials, labor, installation, testing, and commissioning required for fully operational systems.
