Request for Quotations No. 19JA8023Q0002

Warehouse Operations Services for U.S. Embassy Tokyo

Question 1:

“Does the contractor have responsibility to provide transportation for

In-Turns Handling and Out-Turn Handling to the destination of the product?

Answer 1: No.

Question 2:

“Can the forklifts move freely between the two warehouses?”

Answer 2: Yes.

Question 3:

“Other than disposal locations, are there any other movement/locations for product that the forklifts are not able to provide the necessary transportation?”

Answer 3:

No transportation necessary for disposal or any other movements.

Question 4:

“In the work responsibilities estimate, in-turns handling is estimated at 24 and the estimate of out-turn handling is estimated at

112. During summer peak season it says to anticipate 5 in-turns and

5 out-turns a week. That is equivalent to approximately 100 for the peak season alone. Can you provide additional explanation for the significant discrepancy on in-turns? Estimated 24 annually vs estimated 5 per week equally 100 just in peak season?

“Can the government provide the estimated distance from the warehouse to the disposal location in Tokyo?”

Answer 5:

Paragraph (b) under subsection 1.2.2.1 (6) Disposal Assistance is deleted. See Amendment No. 0002.

Question 6:

“Is there any produce movement in addition to the disposal requirement that require use of a truck verses a forklift?”

Answer 6: No.

Question 7:

“We do not see packing and wrapping supplies on the government list of materials. Is all Packing and wrapping material the responsibility of the contractor?”

Answer 7: Yes.

Question 8:

“Can the government provide an estimated quantities of packing and wrapping supplies required/used annually?”

Answer 8:

No, the U.S. Government cannot provide an estimate on the supplies required.

Question 9:

“In previous bids for embassy warehouse services, the contractor was responsible for laundering drapes and linens. Are there any laundering or dry-cleaning services required in this contract?

Answer 9: No.
