About this file
This is a SAM.gov Registration Guide for Vendors seeking to conduct business with the U.S. government on contracts valued at $30,000 or more. The guide provides step-by-step instructions for Zimbabwean companies to register in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov), which is a free but legally required registration process.
The registration process consists of four sequential steps. Step 1 requires obtaining a NATO Commercial and Government Entity (NCAGE) code by visiting the NCAGE Request website and submitting company information that exactly matches the Certificate of Incorporation, including careful attention to spelling and punctuation; applicants should wait at least 48 hours after receiving the code before proceeding. Step 2 involves acquiring official documentation in English containing the legal business name, physical address, and year of incorporation, with a Certificate of Incorporation or Bank Statement being the optimal supporting documents. Step 3 requires creating a SAM.gov account, navigating to the Workspace, entering company details exactly as they appear on the NCAGE registration (avoiding special characters such as Å, Ä, or Ö), uploading English-language company documents, and waiting for entity validation; the guide recommends selecting at least two authentication methods and using a collective email address such as info@. Step 4 involves logging back into SAM.gov to receive a Unique Entity ID and completing all remaining registration sections (approximately 40 minutes), filling only mandatory fields marked with asterisks and avoiding autofill for addresses, then submitting the registration for verification and approval until the entity status becomes ACTIVE.
