About this file

This document is an Amendment of Solicitation for a roofing renovation project at the American Embassy in Paris. The amendment (No. 19FR6325Q0041-A0002) is effective September 12, 2025, and provides additional technical details for a roof improvement project. Key technical requirements include installing new thermal insulation with a minimum thermal resistance of R ≥ 5 and maximum thermal conductivity of 0.24 W/m².K, and a new high-performance waterproofing membrane with a white finish to reduce solar gain. The scope of work specifies detailed installation requirements, including using certified installers, ensuring continuous insulation with minimal thermal bridges, proper drainage system integration, and careful perimeter detailing at building facades. The amendment adds two attachments (Terrace/Roof plan and Roof details) and updates page 9 of the original scope of work, with all technical specifications subject to client approval.

Supply and Installa on of New Insula on:

Supply and install new thermal insulaƟon boards of a specified type and thickness to achieve the required thermal performance.

Thermal ProperƟes: The new insulaƟon shall have a minimum thermal resistance R ≥ 5 of and a maximum thermal conducƟvity of 0.24 W/m².K. The specific type and thickness of insulaƟon will be subject to Client approval based on calculaƟons demonstraƟng compliance with current French building regulaƟons, RT 2020 and project energy efficiency goals. OpƟons to be considered with relevant thermal properƟes, and proposed to COR.

InstallaƟon shall be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instrucƟons and relevant best pracƟces, ensuring a conƟnuous layer of insulaƟon with minimal thermal bridges.

3.4 INSTALLATION OF NEW WATERPROOFING SYSTEM:

Supply and Installa on of New Waterproofing Membrane:

Supply and installaƟon of a new, high-performance flat roof waterproofing system. The specific type of membrane, a white finish to the surface of the roof to reduce solar gain, TPO and bituminous membrane and system build-up will be subject to

Client approval based on factors such as durability, lifespan, cost-effecƟveness, and compaƟbility with the insulaƟon.

InstallaƟon shall be carried out by cerƟfied installers in strict accordance with the manufacturer's instrucƟons and relevant industry standards.

This includes proper detailing at all laps, seams, penetraƟons (vents, pipes, ducts.), upstands, and terminaƟon points.

Replacement of any damaged or inadequate drainage components (drain outlets, leaf guards) as required and agreed with the Client.

Ensuring proper integraƟon of the drainage system with the new waterproofing membrane.

Perimeter Detailing at Facades:

Careful detailing where the new waterproofing system meets the building facades. This shall include:

RespecƟng the maximum height increase of no more than 10cm to the exisƟng parapet detail on the perimeter of the facade.

Replace the perimeter metal facet detail, or « causƟere » with the same colour match dark gray/anthracite colour (to be subject to Client approval)

Ensuring a waterƟght seal between the roof membrane and the facades of the roof plant rooms.

ConsideraƟon of appropriate upstands and terminaƟon methods to prevent water ingress into the building structure.
