Questions and Answers American Embassy Dhaka Solicitation No. 19BG018Q0002 for Air Conditioners.

Q1) Can a bidder offer multiple brands?

A1) Yes, bidders can submit separate pricing and technical specifications for separate brands.

Q2) What will happen if the Government of Bangladesh imposes new taxes for the product after submitting the offer?

A2) The U.S. Embassy Dhaka recommends that vendors use past experience with similar products and related taxes.

Q3) Supplying products from local stock will reflect prices inclusive of local import taxes of approximately 218%, and AIT (Advance Income Tax) and VAT of 9%. The total 227% will increase the unit price, but delivery time will be shorter. Importing directly from the manufacturer will eliminate import taxes, AIT and VAT. Bulk ordering would save freight costs. If the U.S. Embassy keeps both options for supply from local stock and import, for emergency use, you can order from local stock and also you can order from factory if you've 45 days delivery time.

A3) The U.S. Embassy will evaluate bids according to the evaluation factors in the solicitation package.
