About this file
This document is an Amendment of Solicitation and accompanying Questions and Answers for a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia. The solicitation (19AS2025Q0027) seeks the supply and installation of eight (8) Condenser Water Pumps and six (6) Variable Speed Drives/Variable Frequency Drives (VSD/VFD) for their facility. The project involves replacing multiple pump systems, including 2 primary pumps (5 kW), 2 secondary pumps (30 kW), 2 condenser water pumps (5.5 kW), 2 Building P pumps (0.75 kW), and associated VSD/VFDs.
The RFQ includes detailed technical requirements for system integration, with components to interface with existing Carrier iVu and Siemens Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS). Key integration requirements include assigning unique network addresses, configuring alarm and status signals, mapping analog signals, and verifying remote start/stop and speed control capabilities. Ancillary requirements involve performing maintenance assessments, checking valves and strainers, verifying electrical connections, and conducting comprehensive commissioning to ensure proper hydraulic balancing and system performance. The proposal is due on September 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM AEST, with attachments including chilled water system drawings and site photos provided to potential bidders.

Question 1. Provide area maps/drawings.
Answer: Chilled Water System Drawings are provided as attachment.
Question 2. Include photos of the site.
Answer: Photos of the site are provided as attachment.
Question 3. What are the integration requirements for the pumps and VSD/VFDs?
Answer: The integration requirements are as follows:
Replacement of 6 pumps and 4 VSD/VFDs:
o Includes 2 primary pumps, 2 secondary pumps, 2 condenser water pumps, and their associated VSD/VFDs.
o These components will interface with the existing Carrier iVu BMS/BAS system.
Replacement of 2 pumps:
o Building P pumps (2 units) will remain connected to the existing Siemens
BMS/BAS system using standard BACnet/IP or Modbus TCP/IP protocols.
Replacement of 2 VSD/VFDs:
o These VSD/VFDs are currently connected to the cooling towers and will be replaced and integrated with the Carrier iVu BMS/BAS system.
Integration will require:
Assignment of unique network addresses for each VFD, chiller, and pump within their respective BMS/BAS network.
cooling tower fan.
BMS/BAS system for monitoring and control.
and feedback signals to their respective BMS/BAS system (Carrier iVu or Siemens).
Question 4.
Answer:
Primary Pumps:
o Power: 5 kW o Quantity: 2 units o Controlled by 2 VSD/VFDs
Secondary Pumps:
o Power: 30 kW o Quantity: 2 units
Condenser Water Pumps:
o Power: 5.5 kW o Quantity: 2 units o Controlled by 2 VSD/VFDs
