| 6 | 8/28/24 | Site Visit | Clean Infusion | Does the Arc Flash study include isolated sites? | No. The Arc Flash study will address the treatment plant site only and be broken down by the following plant areas - Main Switchgear Maintenance Building, General and Site, Headworks, Primary Sedimentation Area, Secondary Sedimentation Area, Activated Sludge Area, Advanced Primary Chlorination Facilities, Waste Activated Sludge Thickening Area, Solids Processing Area, Standby Power Generation Facilities Area, Secondary Treatment Blower Building Area. |
| 7 | 8/28/24 | Solicitation | Flo-System Inc | VII EXISTING CONDITIONS, 1. Grit Classifiers/Separator specificions: Mfg: Wemco Hydrogritter & Wemco model C pumps that mate with this Hydrogritter. IBWC originally installed our Wemco Model C and then later replaced it with Discflo pumps; these pumps are not similar pumps, nor can you compare the 2. |
Would like discuss the wording of this requirement in the spec/SOW
| The original grit pumps were Wemco Model C sized to deliver 160 gpm at 121-ft, 80-ft, and 55-ft at design, intermediate, and minimum capacity. These pumps were later replaced with Disflow Pumps. To help improve operations and standardize pumps at the plant, IBWC will allow Discflo Pump (Model 604-17) or a Wemco pump be provided as an equal. Offerors shall submit pump product information for IBWC review and approval and select pumps that are upsized by approximately 10%. | ||||||
| 8 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | Grit Pump Stations Suction Line; | ||
| Most of the piping is Ductile Iron, Glass Lined. It was observed during site visit that a portion of the suction line in the grit pump galley is made up of SCH80 PVC. Is the replacement of this pipe going to be SCH80 PVC or changed out to Dutile Iron Glass Lined PVC? | The Amendment #1 SOW has reflected changes and verbiage in section VI | |||||
| 9 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | It was verbally mentioned that the piping I believe needs to be ‘OCAL’. I believe this is a PVC coating correct? Can we get some clarification on what OCAL is and where it is to be applied? | OCAL Corrosion Resistant Conduit Systems. OCAL PVC-coated conduit and fittings is a type of electrical conduit system that is intended for corrosive environments. | |
| 10 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | Are the 6 grit pumps the only equipment that requires VFD controls? The Primary Air Channel Blowers and Grit Blowers do not require VFD’s correct? | Correct. | |
| 11 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | Location of the VFD’s: Are the VFD’s going to be located in the pump galley near each grit pump or against some wall in the pump galley or outside of the pump galley? | They shall not be installed in the grit pump gallery, but may be installed at ground elevation outside of pump gallery, preferably near the building where the MCCs are located. | |
| 12 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | Plug Valves: Can we get a technical specification sheet for the requirements for the Plug Valves. There are several 6” and 4” plug valves. We want to make sure that these in fact are plug valves and what materials the plug valve components need to be made out of. | Provide in-kind plug valve replacement for wastewater application in a corrosive environment. See drawings provided. | |
| 13 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | Primary Channel Air Blowers and Grit Blowers Piping; Wanted to confirm materials of construction for the blower piping. Wanted to confirm that all piping materials, expansion joints are to be fabricated with stainless steel 316 schedule 10 correct? | Provide in-kind DIP. | |
| 14 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | All hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, pipe supports/straps) are to be fabricated with Stainless Steel 316 correct? | The Amendment #1 SOW has reflected changes and verbiage in section VI | |
| 15 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | Grit Blower Piping: Wanted to confirm how much of the girt blower piping needs to be replaced. Do we run all new pipe up to the first coupling on the vertical discharge section of the piping and that’s it or does it go all the way up to the top of the deck: (see Picture 1 below): | Replace grit chamber blower piping, valves, ARVs in-kind up to existing tee at air header. (See pictures 3 & 4 attached below). | |
| 16 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | There are 2 sets of 6” Flow Meters (4 in total). | ||
| a. | Can we get specs on these flow meters so we can find like kind. We need to understand the materials of construction for this application. | |||||
| b. | How long do the cables need to be? | |||||
| c. | How much flow is going through them? | |||||
| d. | What kind of interface do we need? | |||||
| e. | Do we need an alarm dialer box | |||||
| f. | Do they need blue tooth capability | |||||
| g. | Are they contact or non-contact | Offeror’s shall provide flow meters suitable for wastewater grit pumping operations at flows from approximately 0 to 800 gpm. Offeror’s shall provide sufficient cable length for approximate installation in the existing locations. Proposed flow meters shall be recommended for this application by the grit pump manufacturer and be compatible with the existing control and SCADA system, including alarm conditions.The new meters should have/come with a transmitter to read and communicate the information. The current meters/transmitters send a 4-20 mA signal to a PLC which then converts that to a flow reading and that is displayed on the HMI/SCADA screens. Currently, there is a flow differential alarm I programmed into the HMI/SCADA. If the flow at the Grit Pumps/PSTE deviates by enough (X gpm) compared to the headworks flow meters, an alarm is triggered on the HMI/SCADA screens. We don't believe this triggers a callout alarm, No bluetooth or wireless options are required or desired at this time | ||||
| 17 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | Spark Test: | ||
| a. | Can a get a scope or some idea of what is involved or required with the spark test. | |||||
| b. | What equipment is involved with this spark test? | This is not referenced in the SOW | ||||
| 18 | 9/3/24 | Solicitation | Clean Infusion | There was some discussion about this pipe work and these blow off valves. Wanted to confirm the scope of this section/area. What do we need to do here: (see Pic 2 below) | The pipe and fittings shown in the picture are not part of this scope of work. |
