About this file
This document is a Glossary related to a Request for Information (RFI) for Back-Office System (BOS) Innovations for the Illinois Tollway. The RFI is seeking respondents to assist in discerning future opportunities for development of the next generation of the Tollway's BOS, which is the computer systems and services that process toll transactions collected in the field, support violation enforcement activities, and manage revenue and customer service operations. The Glossary defines key terms such as All Electronic Tolling, Automated Toll Payment Machines, Big Data, Business Rules Engine, Commercial Back Office, Customer Relationship Management, and Open Road Tolling, among others.
The RFI does not include pricing terms, set asides, incumbent information, funding requirements or sources, or other salient commercial details. It is focused on gathering information to inform the development of the Tollway's future BOS, which must process a high volume of daily toll transactions and manage customer accounts and services.
