About this file

This document is an Addendum to the Bidding Documents for the Milakokia Lake SFCG BAS Improvements project, which is overseen by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) State Facilities Administration Design and Construction Division. The addendum provides clarification and responses to contractor questions regarding requirements for EGLE/LEO notification, treatment of cash and provisionary allowances, inclusion of wire mesh, and site survey and earthwork details. The project is located in Mackinac County, Michigan and the bid opening date is scheduled for March 27, 2024.

The addendum specifies that there is no requirement for EGLE/LEO notification for the toilet vault demolition, and that the cash and provisionary allowances are separate bid items not included in the closeout or mobilization costs. It also confirms that wire mesh is not included in the project, and provides information on the survey control and lack of earthwork quantities for the existing parking area grading. Alternate Item No. 1 considers the use of a different aggregate material, MDOT 23A, for the parking area.

1. I am wondering if we are required to have an EGLE/LEO notification of intent to demolish the toilet vault. I would not think so because it is so small, but I want to make sure.

Answer: At this time there is no requirement to fill out an EGLE/LEO notification.

2. Do we include the cash and provisionary allowance in the 6% closeout. As well with the 4%mobilization cost, can I include the cash and provisionary allowance?

Answer: The cash and provisionary allowances are separate bid items with specific dollar amounts. They are not part of the six percent closeout or mobilization bid items.

3. The plans do not call out wire mesh in the drawing but the specs has information on wire mesh. Do I add wire mesh in the quote.

Answer: There is no wire mesh included on the project.

4. Is there control set up on the project? Do you have any earthwork quantities for the grading of the existing parking area?

Could other aggregates be used other than the 21aa? I imagine the questions we asked at the meeting will be addressed in the addendum after today

Answer: Wade Trim surveyors do have control set up on the project. We do not have earthwork quantities for the grading of the existing parking are. Alternate Item No. 1 considers the use of Aggregate Surface Course MDOT 23A.
