Conference Room Renovations at the Frances Perkins Building
CONTRACTOR QUESTIONS GOVERNMENT RESPONSES
1) Based on a cursory review of the existing fire sprinkler system located within the conference room, there does not appear to be a need for a replacement or modification to the system. Please confirm that the fire sprinkler system shall not be modified or replaced.
The contractor’s A&E firm shall dictate this need.
2) In section “1.4 scope” in the provided documents, it calls out to “provide a new reflected ceiling.” Please confirm that the intention of this scope item is to install new ceiling tile and grid with regard to the reflected ceiling plan developed by the A/E.
Confirmed.
3) The documents provided call out working hours from 6 PM to 6 AM Monday through Friday. Please confirm that any required outages can be completed within this time frame.
Yes, upon approval.
4) The contract documents call for the replacement of the existing carpet within the conference room. Is there a desired carpet type, such as carpet tile or broadloom? Shall the carpet be padded?
Please refer to 5.1.1.C of the PWS.
5) The documents provided call for asbestos/ lead abatement as needed. Is there a current report on the existing hazardous material within the conference room that can be provided, or should the contractor assume that no hazardous materials will be encountered for pricing purposes and only include testing within the proposal?
Yes. See attached.
6) The documents provided call for the sanding and staining of the existing door.
Please confirm that the existing door hardware shall be removed and reinstalled.
Confirmed.
7) There is a large conference room table within the conference room. Shall this table be removed from the space prior to construction? If not, is there a location within

Please refer to 5.1.1.C of the PWS.
9) The documents provided call for Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire & Life Safety design documents. These requirements seem excessive for the space. Please confirm that this requirement can be removed.

Attachment 1 is a concept floor plan. Are existing-conditions or as-built drawings available for Suite N1649 — architectural, reflected ceiling, mechanical/fan coil, electrical panel and circuit, sprinkler, fire alarm, and IT/data? If the latter, please provide them.
See attached. Final selection will occur during design.
13) AV and IT equipment. Please confirm the division of responsibility. Please confirm or correct.

15) Sprinkler and fire alarm. Please confirm the extent of modification is to be determined by the offeror's A/E based on the new ceiling and lighting layout and applicable code, rather than a Government-defined quantity.
