About this file

This is an Addendum to Bid for a Florida county resurfacing project designated 26B-126, covering SW 35th Avenue, SW 3rd Street, and SW 40th Avenue. The project scope includes milling and resurfacing existing roadway, installation and restriping of pavement markings, and sodding of roadway shoulders, extending from SW 38th Court to SR 40 (W Highway 40). The addendum addresses four clarification questions regarding contractor responsibilities, work hour restrictions, permitting requirements, and utility adjustments. All work must be performed during regular working hours, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Weekend and holiday work requires prior written consent from the County. Any proposed lane closures or activities near SR 40 and SR 200 must be coordinated with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), which may impose additional time-of-day restrictions on those operations.

The addendum clarifies that the Contractor will retain all milling materials and that no adjustments to existing manholes or water valves are needed, as their existing depths align with the planned milling and resurfacing depths, ensuring the final pavement surface remains at the original elevation. The County does not currently possess an FDOT permit and is coordinating with FDOT to determine whether a permit is required for work near W. Highway 40. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signing the Proposer Requirements/Acknowledgements Form; failure to do so may result in bid rejection.

ADDENDUM TO BID

September 21, 2026

TO: Participating Bidders

RE: Addendum No. 1

26B-126 SW 35th Avenue/SW 3rd St/SW 40th Avenue Resurface

Please make note of the following changes, additions, deletions and clarifications to the above-mentioned solicitation:

Questions & Answers:

1. Will the County keep the millings or the Contractor? If the County keeps them, where are they to be hauled to?

The Contractor will keep the millings.

2. Are there time restrictions for construction?

Per Section 7.03 of the Standard General Conditions, all work must be performed during regular working hours, Monday through Friday. Work on Saturdays, Sundays, or legal holidays requires prior written consent from the County.

The specific start and end times for regular working hours will be determined and approved at the pre-construction meeting, at which time the winning Contractor will have an opportunity to provide input. The County has sole authority to establish those hours, which will be no less than 8 hours per day/40 hours per week.

Additionally, please be aware that per Special Provision No. 4, any proposed lane closures or activities near SR 40 and SR 200 must be coordinated with FDOT, which may impose its own time-of-day restrictions on those operations.

3. Can a copy of the FDOT permit be provided?

The County does not possess a FDOT permit. We are currently coordinating with FDOT to determine if a permit is needed or the work near W. Highway 40 as shown on Sheet 21 of the plans.

4. Will any manholes or water valves be adjusted?

No adjustments to manholes or water valves will be needed. All of the existing manholes and water valves are located within the areas to be milled and resurfaced. The depth of the milling and resurfacing are the same. Therefore, the final pavement surface should be at the same elevation as the original pavement surface.

By signing the Proposer Requirements/Acknowledgements Form, Bidders are acknowledging receipt of this addendum. Failure to acknowledge receipt of this addendum may be cause for rejection.
