About this file
This is a Bid Bond Form for Marion County, Florida, issued by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners for the 26B-126 SW 38th Avenue/SW 3rd Street/SW 40th Avenue Resurfacing Project. The project extends from SW 38th Court to State Road 40 and consists of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, installation and restriping of pavement markings, and sodding of roadway shoulders. The form serves as a standard bid security instrument requiring the contractor (Principal) and a surety to guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract if awarded and provide the required performance and payment bonds as specified in the bidding documents. The bid bond amount and specific contract terms are to be filled in by the bidding parties at the time of submission.
Alternatively, contractors may submit a Cashier's Check in lieu of a traditional bid bond. If a Cashier's Check is submitted, funds from a minimum of the top three ranked firms will remain in the custody of Procurement Services until a contract is executed with the recommended firm and approved by the County. Firms are responsible for retrieving their bond checks or providing courier information for return; those requesting standard USPS delivery must submit a written request via email or fax, with the County assuming no liability for lost or misdirected mail. The form requires execution by authorized representatives of both the Principal and Surety, with witness signatures and notarization as specified in the standard bid bond language.
