About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) document addressing questions about sidewalk and pavement repair work at MDC Brooklyn. The document clarifies five key points about the project: NYC permits are not required for work on 29th street but may be needed for work on 2nd and 3rd avenue since the Bureau of Prisons does not own that property; a bid bond is required; the government will provide a secure laydown area to be determined at project start; there is a discrepancy between the report (1755 sf) and SAM.gov (2000 sf) measurements, with the larger amount accounting for potential NYC miscalculations; and contractors must follow NYCDOT specifications for sidewalks and asphalt to ensure a smooth, trip-free area.

The associated opportunity (15BBR025Q00000011) is for removing and replacing 2000 sq ft of concrete cement walkway and repairing 700 sq ft of staff parking lot with hot roadway blacktop at MDC Brooklyn. The project has a 49-day performance period, with a mandatory site visit scheduled for January 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Quotes are due January 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM, and evaluation will be based on past performance, lowest price, and delivery time using best value determination.
