About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation 15BBNF26Q00000034 regarding the replacement of a food service chiller. The document does not specify response dates, award dates, pricing terms, or set-asides, as it functions as a clarification mechanism rather than a primary solicitation document.

The key technical requirements clarified through this Q&A are: a 100-ton air-cooled chiller with entering water temperature of 54°F and leaving water temperature of 44°F (standard ARI conditions). Acceptable refrigerants include R410A or R-32. The replacement unit must fit the existing concrete pad measuring 106 inches wide by 202 inches long. The existing chiller being replaced is a Carrier 30RBB10064-50 (Serial 1310Q74039), which vendors should reference for sizing and performance specifications to ensure the replacement unit fits the same footprint. The solicitation does not require bid bonds, payment bonds, performance bonds, or insurance; however, a background check will be required for the awarded vendor at startup. The chiller will be installed outside on a concrete pad and is not subject to interior space dimensional constraints or shelving specifications.

Questions & Answers Solicitation:15BBNF26Q00000034

Project title: Replace Food Service Chiller

1. Can you kindly provide us with the capacity of this Air-Cooled chiller - we need the tonnage.

A: Tonnage is 100 tons.

2. Is the entering water temperature 54 F and the leaving water temperature 44 F which are the standard ARI conditions A: Yes, entering temperate and leaving temperature of 54 F and 44 F are fine.

Refrigerant can be R410A as well. The SOW only states R-32.

3. Is this a replacement or a new construction scenario? If it’s new construction, there is most likely already a working bid for this that can be sent to you. I would need the plans in order to pull the bib or have a new one created. If this is a replacement scenario, where is the Brand/Model/ serial of the existing? This will be necessary to assure what we are quoting as a replacement will fit the same footprint and perform the same.

A: This is a replacement of an existing chiller. The existing chiller is a Carrier 30RBB10064-50, Serial 1310Q74039.

4. In all the attached information, I do not see a required size of chiller needed. I see everything but that. Do you know what size chiller is being requested? Again, if this were a replacement case, I could use the existing unit data tags to get the sizing correct.

A: The existing chiller is a Carrier 30RBB10064-50, Serial 1310Q74039.

5. Are bid bonds, payment bonds, performance bonds, insurance, background checks etc. required for this opportunity?

A: Bid bonds, payment bonds, performance bonds, insurance is not required for this opportunity. If awarded, a background check will be required for the vendor start-up.

6. Can you give me the dimensions of the space that it will go into? How many shelves that you want in it the cooler or tell me how many different variations of food that you would like to put into it?

A: This does not apply to requirement. The requested chiller sits outside on a concrete pad.
