Questions on Scope of Work

6(B) Is the electric drive motor listed above the drive motor for the inlet guide vanes or the compressor?

A. Inlet Guide Vanes, Thrust bearing, and Compressor is also an inspection.

7. Is the contractor required to replace all service valves?

A. Inspect a known working Chiller. This is a preventative Rebuild. Under McQuay recommendations rebuild and replace required items know to extend the life of the operational chiller, under the intervals suggested. If Valves are in good condition, do not replace.

8. SOW states “replace if required.” All items that do not pass inspection will be quoted additionally and will not be included within original quote

A. Additional items needed are assumed extra, and will be quoted during rebuild. (We are assuming Chiller is in good operation. This is a Preventative Rebuild.)

11(B) If tubes are scaled and require chemical cleaning this will need to be addressed prior to eddy current which would be an additional cost to the original scope and/or quote.

A. No longer removing condenser or evap end plates. Eddy current no longer requested. No longer cleaning tubes.

What qualifications are required?

A. Factory trained and qualified to rebuild McQuay Brand WSC087-BAABM Chillers.

What is required for the system load test?

A. Perform a functions test after rebuild and operate chiller under load. (The available load from the system.)

Warranty coverage.

A. Warranty will need to extend to newly installed components. The Chiller is operational and known to be working correctly and assumed in good order. This is a preventative rebuild.
