Q. Can tools be left on site?

A. Tools cannot be left inside the institution, can be locked in job box or connex outside of the institution.

Q. Can Material be left on site?

A. Limited material will be allowed to be left at the jobsite if it can be secured. Contractor is responsible for providing own storage outside the secure perimeter of the institution. A connex box has been used in the past and is recommended.

Q. What communication will our techs have?

A. Cell phones, radios, etc. are not permitted inside the institution. BOP staff escorts will have radios that will allow communication between contractor’s technicians.

Q. How many crews will be allowed to run at a time?

A. Two

Q. How will trash disposal be handled?

A. Contractor will need to remove trash daily and place in dumpster outside the secure perimeter. Any demo of equipment with value (panel, alarm, etc.) the BOP will keep.

Q. Is it okay to take down an entire building at a time?

A. Yes, we are planning on doing 1 building at a time.

Q. Can wiring in place be reused?

A. Yes. The Government expects all wiring in place to be used.

Q. What are lunch procedures?

A. It is recommended that the contractor bring in a cooler with lunches and water.

Q. How long will background check take?

A. Badging is be handled pursuant to the short‐term contractor requirements. Turn around should be fairly quick.

Q. Is non‐shielded 2 conductor cable or fiber preferred?

A. The statement of work allows for either.

Q. Is there a routing path?

A. Tunnels under the institution will be utilized for routing.

Q. Can the Bureau of Prisons provide a routing plan?

A. A tour of the tunnels will be part of the pre‐bid meeting?

Q. Is the existing system networked?

A. No

Q. When are RFI’s due?

A. RFQ closing date is Oct 25th

Q. Are there any buildings that will present a challenge?

A. Building 45 will be more of a challenge due to the nature of the operations.

Q. What can be worn?

A. No orange, red, or camouflage.
