Questions and Answers
1. Is there a performance/payment bond if $30,000 or over?
a. Yes a payment bond or Irrevocable letter of credit will be required if the bid is $30,000 or greater.
2. Will the individual clearances be the short for or the long form?
a. The short form will be sufficient based upon the short time frame for this project.
3. Are you intending to start this project before Christmas?
a. Yes we intend to have this started and finished before the Christmas Holiday.
4. Are we required to go through tool count procedures in and out every day? If so would it be a typical 30 min in and out average?
a. Yes a tool inventory will have to be done daily in and out. The time needed for the inventory will depend upon your level of organization.
5. Aside from negative air machines will be required to mitigate the odor that will be emitted as well?
a. No the odor is expected
6. Is the tile and mastic on concrete or wood?
a. Concrete
7. Are we required to abate cove base mastic?
a. No
8. Are the tiles single layer or multiple layers?
a. Single Layer
9. What amount of tile and mastic is there?
a. Approximately 600 square feet
10. Do you want us to remove the baseboard rubber covering?
a. Yes and we do not need it replaced.
11. Will we be able to store our tools on site?
a. Tools must be removed daily from the unit, however a locked box truck may stay in the visitor parking area over night and may be driven behind the unit for access to the job site.
**Electricity and Water are in the area and provided by the Institution.
** There are three options for where the decontamination units can go, it will be up to the contractor to pick the most suitable place.
